Introduction
Ailsbury’s current project is the dismantling of the Petroplus refinery in Milford Haven.
The Petroplus refinery was Gulf's 115,000 barrel-per-day refinery near Milford Haven, Wales. The refinery was acquired by Petroplus from Chevron in 1998. The complex comprises 1,550,000 cubic meters of storage capacity, deepwater jetties and a mothballed refinery including a cogeneration facility.
The refinery has now been inactive for over a decade and purchased by Bosicor Oil Pakistan Limited, to be shipped by boat to
Pakistan for rebuild. Ailsbury are currently dismantling the refinery, with the first four of five shipments successfully shipped to Pakistan and the re-build there already started.
Staff / Labour
We have had a total of 359 people on site, including direct, indirect and sub contracted labour. Of this total 20 were Ailsbury management staff and engineers, 116 were Ailsbury direct labour including Foremen, Field Technicians, Welders, Plant Operators, Electricians, Riggers and various other Trades and Labour
Our in-direct labour includes the following roles;

2 Site Managers
1 Project Planner
1 Technical Supervision 6 Field Technicians
1 IT Technician
1 Document Controller

Sub Contractors
We have had a total of 19 major Sub Contracted companies and consultancies throughout the lifespan of the project, brought
in to oversee or complete various tasks.
The main contractors include;
ALE – Heavy Haulage. Responsible for transport of all exceptional heavy items to port.
Ainscough – Cranes. Used to facilitate all of our lifting requirements on site.
SGB – Scaffolding. Responsible for the erection and dismantling of all scaffolding required.
Caswell Group – Asbestos Removal. Identification and safe removal of all asbestos materials on site.
Total Hours Expenditure
We have expended a total of 300,774 safe hours to date including direct and in-direct labour to achieve our current progress of
86.6% in a period of 15 months.


Export of Plant
We have successfully exported 20,000 tons of plant and equipment consisting of 80,000 cubic meters of break bulk cargo and
435 standard 40 foot containers.
